PET THERAPY DAY
NEW YORK-PRESBYTERIAN HOSPITAL
White Plains, NY
December 8, 2011
On December 8, 2011 cake students and decorators from Laurels Cake Cottage generously donated their time and talents towards our first Pet Therapy Fundraiser for NY Presbyterian Hospital - White Plains, NY. Their creations were not only beautiful to look at but also delicious too! In the end, there was barely anything left to buy.
The event was a tremendous success! The bake sale & pet boutique brought in 700.00 in funding. Approximately 7 therapy teams came to visit with the staff and patients in the center lobby of the hospital and a lot of staff were very interested in our program and spent a lot of time talking to the volunteers and playing with the dogs
A 50/50 cash raffle also helped to generate funding and a
"guess how many dog biscuits are in the jar" contest was held. The winner received an I-tunes card and the 6 lbs of dog biscuits
used in the guessing game were donated to the Elmsford Animal
Shelter for the dogs to enjoy
Special thank you to all those who participated to help make this event such a success. Special thanks to those listed below who donated a baked item:
